We are currently sitting on a very explosive essay. But we can’t publish it yet.
A long time ago, (well, only a year, but in tech company timescale that is an epoch) before the infamous “zoom firings” at Better.com, we received a tip about the company’s maniacal CEO, Vishal Garg. His employees (or in Garg-speak, “dumb dolphins”) sought Lioness’s help to let the public know how awful things were in their workplace. We brought their story to the press.
Since that time, online mortgage lender Better.com has ballooned to a $7 billion valuation (“dumb unicorn,” anyone?). Vishal has become the crush du jour of Masa Son, the head of SoftBank who funnels torrents of Saudi money into men who are as terrible at business as they are good for sales of streaming TV shows.
Now, the remarkable thing about horrible bosses like Garg is that they never seem to go away…
